What is pole fishing?

You'll need a good fishing pole to take on pole fishing of course, but what exactly is pole fishing?  It's a method of float fishing where the float is fished just below the top of the pole.  It's a really popular method of fishing ponds, lakes, canals and rivers.  Pole fishing boasts increased bite sensitivity and gives the angler much more of a feel of what's going on directly beneath their float.  Who wouldn't want that?!
