More about our Flies

Generally for fly fishing we have two types of flies which are:

  • Pike Flies: Pike flies are artificial lures designed to catch pike, a predatory freshwater fish found in many parts of the world. Unlike trout flies, which are designed to imitate small insects or baitfish, pike flies are typically larger and more durable, designed to imitate larger prey such as baitfish, frogs, and other small aquatic animals that pike feed on. Pike fishing with flies can be a thrilling experience, as pike are known for their aggressive strikes and powerful fights. Anglers often use larger, heavier rods and reels to handle the size and strength of pike, and the flies themselves are often tied on larger hooks and with heavier materials to withstand the pike's sharp teeth and strong jaws.
     
  • Trout Flies: Trout flies are artificial lures that are used by anglers to catch trout. They are designed to mimic the insects, baitfish, and other aquatic creatures that trout typically feed on. There are many different types of trout flies, each designed to imitate a specific type of insect or baitfish. Dry flies, for example, are designed to float on the surface of the water, while wet flies and nymphs are designed to sink below the surface. Streamers are larger flies that imitate small fish or leeches and are typically used to catch larger trout.
