Daiwa , quality?
Firstly let me say that FTB are 5 stars every time..but Daiwa in my opinion are skimping on quality control. I bought the 15ft tournament s as I do a lot of river fishing. I love the blank itself , it fast , responsive and easy to hold for long periods with a beautiful fish playing action .The problem is the fit and finish on this and other daiwas I own , its bad ! The joints on this rod wouldn't actually fit and I had to take wet dry paper to them ! OK no big deal , coupled minute's and careful sanding and they went together. More than a few of the eyes are off square with the blank , not much I can do there. As I say its a great blank and I've fished with it and it's lovely but come on daiwa , 500 quid and I expect the details to be done well.im thinking twice about buying daiwa now cause its not the first expensive rod from daiwa that I own to have finish issues.
