The Beastmaster XB is the renewed version of the Beastmaster XTA/XSA big pit reel. It's the lowest price point Shimano Big Pit reel.
For this money, the angler will have an excellent working reel which is strong and durable. The 10000 size aluminum spool holds 0.35 mm -400m line, which is more than enough for both carp anglers who want to fish far out and surf anglers who want to make long casts. The instant drag is smooth and reliable. It has 1+1 A-RB bearings, the gear ratio is 4,6:1 and the line retrieve is 100 cm per reel handle turn (360 degrees). The reel is matt black painted with grey details: this color is chosen so the reel matches (colour-wise) with almost every rod in the market and this black colour is appreciated by carp anglers as well.
